Celebrating Success – FE Awards fortnight
Gloucestershire College celebrated the achievements of outstanding students from across the college during FE Awards Fortnight 2011. A series of celebration events were held over the fortnight, where departments gathered together with students and their friends and family to honour over 1000 student successes across 11 curriculum areas (pictures below).
Peter White, Director of Customer Services and Marketing says: “The Annual FE Awards Fortnight is an opportunity to celebrate our students’ achievements and the diversity of the courses we offer. For many, it will be the last event they attend at the college and it offers an opportunity to reflect on what they have achieved. The awards identify not only those who achieve academic excellence, but also students who have overcome difficulties in order to succeed or have gone out of their way to help others. We are very proud of all of our award winners each year and wish them well for the future.”
Ten award ceremonies took place across the three main campuses countywide including the newest addition to Gloucestershire College, the Royal Forest of Dean Campus near Coleford and all are attended by a member of the Senior Management Team and a Governor from the college’s corporation as well as departmental staff and, in many cases, representatives from industry. Awards include: Most Improved Student, Outstanding Achievement, Apprentice of the Year, Best Newcomer, and awards specific to each subject area.
Congratulations!
