Enrolment: Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find a various number of queries which may be of use to you ranging from First Choice Course, Year 11 GCSE Results Day, Online Enrolment Portal and Enrolment for our Full-Time courses beginning in September.

First Choice Course
-
The deadline to change your First Choice Course is, Thursday 31st July. We have this date in place to offer a fair application process for all applicants.
-
We do advise against changes after this point, a change after this date will see your application date change to the date of your change request and will affect your enrolment priority (we enrol based on application date order).
If you are unsure on what to do, we recommend contacting our Admissions Team or call us on 0345 155 2020 (option 3) to seek further advice and guidance.
-
No, we only have a First Choice Course. If at enrolment, you have not met the conditions (meeting the entry criteria or course capacity) our academic team will contact you to discuss alternative levels or courses.
-
No, an Apprenticeship is different to a Full-Time course. You need to have secured yourself and employer, if you have, we will work with our Apprenticeship Team to make sure you enrol to the correct course in September but recommend you keep engaging with your Full-Time course as a ‘backup’.
-
You can apply for another subject via your online account through the gloscol.ac.uk website or request to change your First Choice Course to an existing application by contacting the Admissions Team. Although we would like to make you aware that any late applications will risk your chances at securing a place at Gloucestershire College.
To keep enrolment as fair as possible enrolment is prioritised on application date order and we work on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Changing your First Choice Course after 31st July will put you to back of the enrolment queue and will be considered a late application.
-
You do not need to re-apply or make any changes to your application. The best advice we can give is to upload your results when prompted and at enrolment our academic team will review your application and will refer you to a more suitable level.
Year 11 - GCSE Results Day - 21 August
-
GCSE results will be released on Thursday 21 August, for further details contact your school.
-
You must contact your school before GCSE Results Day to discuss an alternative way of receiving them.
-
We recommend uploading your results onto the online enrolment portal the day you receive them. If you have not uploaded these by Monday 25 August, you may put your place on your first-choice course at risk.
-
Still upload your results – if you have done better than expected or not as well as you'd hoped we will still consider your enrolment at GC. However, we may offer a more appropriate level for you to start with.
You do not need to reapply for a different level course. Our enrolment schedule is based on the date you applied, so submitting a later application would push your place further down our schedule.
-
If you have not achieved a Grade 4 in Maths and English you do not need to apply for this, we will add this to your timetable when you are enrolled if you are aged under 19 as of the 31st August 2025.
-
Our deadline to confirm your first-choice course is Thursday 31st July. Any changes made after this date will be considered as a new application.
Our enrolment schedule is based on the date you applied, so submitting a later application would push your place further down our schedule and you may put your place on your first-choice course at risk.
