What are university level apprenticeships?

University level apprenticeships are programmes offered from Level 4 to Level 7. They provide an excellent alternative to university for school leavers with Level 3 qualifications (e.g. A Levels) who prefer industry-led education over a more academic approach.

They are also a beneficial choice for individuals already employed who wish to upskill, reskill, and advance their careers.

Hear from our employers and apprentices

Glatfelter

"Apprentices bring to the business a fresh pair of eyes. They can come in and give us new ideas, get involved, share that knowledge. We're willing to listen to that."

Rowan, Cyber Security apprentice

"I chose my five university applications, when I discovered a degree apprenticeship. The idea of university became less and less appealing. A degree apprenticeship position would give me not only a full-time job with a great annual salary but also a fully funded university degree."

North Tower Consulting

"We have also found apprenticeships as a great way of upskilling our employees, especially when we are identifying ways for employees to transition into a leadership role."

Craig, Leadership and Management Apprentice

“I enjoyed the course content, and if you have the backing from your company, it works seamlessly. My apprenticeship has already opened a few doors for me, and I have now been seconded to a big project.”

Griffiths Marshall

"We have retained several apprentices as permanent staff following them achieving their AAT or ICAEW qualifications. Our apprentices can go as far as they are willing and able – many have stayed with us to complete their qualifications right up to degree."

Ringway

"To many employers that don't currently have apprentices or are looking to get into having apprentices just give it a go, give it an opportunity. There's so much talent out there and so much skill that we just need to utilise."
