The benefits of apprenticeships

Apprenticeships provide measurable business benefits, including increased productivity, improved staff retention and motivation and addressing skills gaps. They offer cost-effective ways to grow your team and receive industry-recognized qualifications, with ongoing support from Gloucestershire College.

Through practical, on-the-job training with academic study, apprentices are able to gain a higher-level qualification while gaining work experience, ensuring that they have support from their employer and training provider.

The benefits of apprenticeships

How is the apprenticeship funded?

The government will fully fund apprenticeship training for SMEs with apprentices aged 16-21, who started their training after 1 August 2024. For apprentices from the age of 22, the government will fund 95% of the apprenticeship costs.

Levy-paying employers (with a salary bill of over £3m) are advised to utilise 50% of their levy pot for apprenticeship training under the recently announced Growth and Skills Levy that is expected to replace the Apprenticeship Levy under the new government.

Our team can advise on how to maximise the apprenticeship funding.
