Apprenticeship Funding
The UK government provides generous funding for apprenticeship programmes. Here’s how it can work for you:
Levy-paying employers (£3m+ wage bill)
- Use your Growth & Skills Levy to fund training & assessment costs. The levy re-sets every 12 months, so use it or lose it.
Non-levy paying employers
- Fully-funded training & assessment for apprentices under the age of 25 recruited by SMEs
- 95%- funded for apprentices aged 25+
- Access funded training through local levy transfer partnerships
Additional incentives (from August 2026)
- £2,000 for each new 16-24 apprentices taken on by an SME
- £3,000 for each new apprentice aged 18-24 on Universal Credit or out of work for 6 months
Plus, no National Insurance contributions for apprentices under 25 earning less than £967/week
