If you are a permanent UK resident and English is not your first language then our part-time ESOL course could be for you. Students may have the opportunity to take reading, writing and/or speaking and listening exams at the end of the year.
This course is for students who would like to improve their level of English to help them progress on to a range of further education and employment options.

The easiest way to apply is Online or CLICK HERE to book an appointment with our Student Services team and they can help you with your application.
Interview
Attend an interview where you will be assessed to see what level you should study. We will also be able to check the documents you need to bring with you.
Offer
If there are spaces at the level you need you will be offered a class at a time of day that works well for you. If there are no spaces at the level or time of day you need, you will be put on a waiting list.
Start
Sign your learning agreement and collect your badge from Student Services to start your first class.
* Enrolment requirements: Students who would like to enrol on any ESOL courses are required to attend an initial assessment. Please be aware that any students applying to join after September will be enrolled into the existing groups subject to available spaces. For further information please contact Student Services on 0345 155 2020.
You will need to meet certain residency criteria to do the course. You can talk to Student Services before you make an application by phoning us on 0345 155 2020, emailing student.services@gloscol.ac.uk or by coming into one of our campuses.
After you have made an application you will be invited for an interview where we can assess what level you should be studying.
You will need to bring the following documentation to interview:

Please be aware that our ESOL courses are extremely popular and subject to availability.
Students will have the opportunity to move to a higher level ESOL course, depending on their progress and achievement of exams. Students can also progress to vocational courses when they have reached Level 1/Level 2. They can then apply to have one-to-one language support alongside their course.

ESOL classes help many students to improve their English in order to communicate better in a range of situations.
If you are 16-18 years old and English is your second language, then our full-time course could be right for you. Students will have the opportunity to develop the language needed for everyday life and work in the UK. You will improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening alongside other student-centred lessons, such as projects and student development.
Students may take exams at different stages throughout the year. It is also possible to take GCSE or Functional Skills maths. This course will help you progress on to full-time further education courses or into work. Regular tutorials with the course leader will help you plan your next steps.
