If you have no prior accounting knowledge, this entry-level bookkeeping qualification will give you an understanding of manual, single-entry bookkeeping basics.
This qualification covers bookkeeping fundamentals. It will introduce you to the role of a bookkeeper and simple bookkeeping techniques, while providing an understanding on why it’s important to keep accurate and up to date financial information in business. You will learn how to identify a range of bookkeeping transactions including income, expenses, and profit and loss, as well as gaining an understanding of the benefits and risks associated with bookkeeping software and the importance of ethical behaviour.
Learning outcomes
Please note the AAT registration fees (approx. £49) and the cost of text books (approx. £26) are in addition to the tuition fees.
This qualification is aimed at those aged 19 (as at 31st August of the academic year) or above who enjoy working with figures and are literate and numerate.
There is no need for any prior accounting or bookkeeping knowledge. It provides a solid grounding for students before moving on to the Level 2 certificate in bookkeeping or the Level 2 certificate in accounting.
You may be entitled to access this course for free if you are in receipt of certain benefits or on a low wage.
Successful completion of this qualification will provide a solid grounding to progress to the Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping or Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.
