This apprenticeship standard is suitable for individuals pursuing a career in electrical installation and maintenance. Electricians install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial and domestic environments. Electrical equipment and systems may include switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning and metering equipment as well as crime and fire alarm systems and renewable energy technologies. They are able to work on their own proficiently and work without immediate supervision in the most efficient and economical manner.
Delivery model and duration:
Apprentices will attend College on a day/block release format
Duration: Up to 48 months

Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification (Installation or Maintenance)

End Point Assessment
Once all training is complete, apprentices are able to apply to take the endpoint
assessment; AM2. AM2 is an independent stand-alone assessment
that is already well recognised in the industry. Satisfactory completion of
the qualification and AM2 will demonstrate full competence and lead to the
award of the apprenticeship certificate.

Three GCSE grades A*-C or 9-4 including English, mathematics and a science/technical based subject and two grades A*-D or 9-3 in any other GCSEs
