From refining skills in acting, movement, and vocals, to perfecting musical theatre skills like the triple threat discipline so that you can act, sing, and dance with confidence.
From TV and film to musical theatre and improvisation, you’ll get hands-on experience both on and off stage, thrive as part of a strong team, and showcase your talents in our Taylor Theatre.

This course is designed to nurture your creativity and versatility as a performer, encouraging you to push boundaries and broaden your horizons. With our Performing Arts course, learning comes alive through practical exploration and dynamic workshops. You’ll delve into the art of character portrayal and pacing, mastering the intricacies of movement and vocal control. Throughout the course, you'll be immersed in hands-on experiences, culminating in public performances that showcase your newfound talents.
With a focus on developing core performance skills and disciplines, such as focus, concentration, and teamwork, you'll thrive both on and off stage, independently and as part of a team. You’ll be open-minded, motivated and willing to explore creatively to fully embrace the challenge of applying these skills across various creative contexts - from theatrical productions to experimental performances.

We are lucky to have a dance studio, rehearsal studio, and a theatre for all our workshops, rehearsals, and performances.
Assessment
Most work for this course is practical with written back up. You’ll complete several integrated assignments covering a range of skills and different units. You will also undertake research projects and present your work in verbal presentations or essays. Public performances also take place in the college’s Taylor Theatre and at outside venues such as The Bacon Theatre and in local schools.
Anything else?
There is an events fee charged at the outset of the course. This covers the final production, two mandatory theatre trips and the cost of visiting guest lecturers and workshops. You’ll normally spend 4 days a week in college, and benefit from a weekly pastoral session with a student mentor for any additional support.
At Gloucestershire College we want students to develop their English and Maths skills so that they achieve their learning goals and future career aims. For this reason, all full-time students (16-18) who have not achieved grade 4 or above English language or maths GCSE will study these subjects as part of their course.
You’ll also develop additional employability and work-based skills through our Which Three Skills programme.
Gloucestershire College welcome any other/combinations of relevant qualifications that are comparable and/or equivalent to the typical course entry requirements.
For 19+ applicants that do not have recognised qualifications may still meet course entry requirements through alternative methods of assessment at the College’s discretion.
