What you do at home in the early years before your child starts school and how you support them during their primary years can contribute hugely to their language development and success as emerging readers and writers.

Topics covered in this free workshop are:

  • Why a good command of English (reading, writing and speaking & listening) is so important for future success
  • How English is taught in school
  • KS1 and KS2 Programmes of Study
  • Age-related writing in Year 2 and Year 6
  • Grammar and punctuation taught in school
  • How we can support our children at home before they start in Reception and whilst at school

 

  • This course is fully funded subject to eligibility and aimed at those aged 19 and above (as at 31st August of the academic year you are applying for) who wish to support their child's learning.

  • Your tutor will be able to advise what other training opportunities are available.
