Student Stories

Kyle Gomez

I’ve always wanted to do something to help the community and being in the police interested me, so I applied to study UPS at GC after a friend recommended it to me. I’ve formed really close friendships with my class through the team-building activities we do on the course. My dream is to work in the police and specialise in firearms; I’m considering going to university but ideally would like to go straight into the police once I complete my course.

Beckii Grount

I didn’t want to go to sixth form so I went to an open evening and I was impressed with the course and facilities. I’d like to join the police as a dog handler so this course was a good place to start. It’s been great getting to know everyone and making new friends and the expeditions. You’ve got nothing to lose! You’ll meet loads of friendly new people and the teachers treat you like adults."
