From leadership and teamwork to outdoor education and studying crime, this course covers comprehensive topics that prepare you for a successful career in the police, armed forces, or emergency services, and provides a solid foundation for higher education.
You can also boost your CV or university application with additional qualifications, such as first aid training and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

You’ll participate in practical activities like riot training with the police, pre-Royal Marine Course training weeks, and multi-service emergency incident exercises.
Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to earn valuable qualifications, including first aid and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Assessment
Assessment will be coursework based, and include a combination of assignments, presentations and practical sessions that test your leadership skills.
Anything else?
At Gloucestershire College we want students to develop their English and Maths skills so that they achieve their learning goals and future career aims. For this reason, all full-time students (16-18) who have not achieved grade 4 or above English language or maths GCSE will study these subjects as part of their course.
You’ll also take part in continual professional development (CPD) and complete the college’s Which Three Skills programme to develop skills like communication, teamwork, resilience and more.
Gloucestershire College welcome any other/combinations of relevant qualifications that are comparable and/or equivalent to the typical course entry requirements.
For 19+ applicants that do not have recognised qualifications may still meet course entry requirements through alternative methods of assessment at the College’s discretion.

Upon completion, you may move on to the Foundation Degree in Uniformed Public Services or other higher education courses in public services. You may also seek employment directly in industry. *course is subject to validation.

Uniformed Public Services
GC offers a wide range of real emergency service and armed forces experiences as part of the uniformed public services course. This has led to many former students going on to join the emergency services (Police, Fire and Ambulance Service) and the armed forces (Army, RAF or the Royal Navy) upon successful completion of their course.
