This 8-week course held at our Gloucester Campus is designed to prepare you for the next stage in your education and/or working life. Its intent is to remove barriers that you may have and to provide you with the confidence you need – as well as the skills – to progress to a higher-level programme, apprenticeship or work.
You will have the opportunity to complete an Ascentis L1 Award in Progression which consists of two units of work (Equality and Diversity and Preparing for a Recruitment Interview) as well as looking at a range of other topics based around employability skills, including organization and time management, customer service and assertiveness.
If you have not yet secured a Grade 4 at GCSE in English and/or Maths (or equivalent), you will have the opportunity to attend discrete sessions on a weekly basis with subject specialist tutors, who will help you improve your skills in these areas. Depending on the time of year that you join us, you may be entered for a GCSE resit during the summer term.
This course generally appeals to those aged 16-24.
Please apply via our website link and you will be contacted to discuss options in more detail and invited to attend an induction session prior to the start.

Uniformed Public Services
GC offers a wide range of real emergency service and armed forces experiences as part of the uniformed public services course.
