English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Scroll

ESOL classes help many students to improve their English in order to communicate better in a range of situations.

If you are 16-18 years old and English is your second language, then our full-time course could be right for you. Students will have the opportunity to develop the language needed for everyday life and work in the UK. You will improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening alongside other student-centred lessons, such as projects and student development.

Students may take exams at different stages throughout the year. It is also possible to take GCSE or Functional Skills maths. This course will help you progress on to full-time further education courses or into work. Regular tutorials with the course leader will help you plan your next steps.

“I applied for the ESOL course to improve my English and communication skills, and meet new people. I heard great things about the course from my family. The teachers are very helpful, the environment is comfortable and I’ve gained a lot of useful knowledge. “Once I complete my course, I plan to study another English language course, such as the IELTS, in order to find a good job.”

“The best thing about the course was the support from the teachers. One of our special projects was a talent show; we has to perform and work together as a group.”

“I would love to become a games developer and the 16-18 ESOL course helped me to improve my English to a standard that can be used in a working environment. I did not know how to speak English properly before and now I am studying an IT course, which is taught in English!”
