Gloucestershire College’s Business Hub team is hosting a free webinar for employers on Wednesday 25 November at 3pm to discover the specialist IT and Cyber apprenticeships available at GC, including our brand new degree programmes.

All businesses have had to adapt rapidly to move online this year. Now the biggest challenge facing employers is sustaining new ways of working safely and securely. Does your business have the necessary IT and technical resources to maintain your new online systems and communication methods? With many employees working from home, how can you keep your business safe and reduce security risks?

Cybercrime hasn't gone away. In fact it has only increased as our new methods of flexible online working have revealed a whole host of new weaknesses to be exploited. Businesses not only need to maintain but also improve their new ways of working with the right resources, infrastructure and training to be agile enough to rise to any new challenges that may come in the future.

That’s where Gloucestershire College can step in. We are training future IT and cyber specialists through apprenticeships and can help your business develop the tech talent you need in house.

Join the GC Business Hub at our webinar to discover our specialist IT apprenticeship programmes suitable for businesses of any size and sector.

Plus, with new government incentive payments of up to £3,000 per apprentice hired, there has never been a better time to recruit a new member for your team.

Julie Tegg, Director of Apprenticeships and Employer Training at Gloucestershire College, will be hosting the webinar joined by Myra Billinghurst, Head of the GC Business Hub team. Together, Julie and Myra have a wealth of experience, knowledge and advice to offer local employers to maximise the benefits of apprenticeships.

Julie Tegg, Director of Apprenticeships and Employer Training said: “Apprenticeships are open to anyone aged 16 or over and are not just for school leavers or entry level qualifications. Even experienced professionals can use apprenticeships to train and learn new technical skills. Our IT and Cyber apprenticeships range from Level 3 to degrees in specialised areas meaning your business can find the perfect fit for your requirements.

Paid for by your apprenticeship levy or either 100% or 95% funded through the government, apprenticeships are a very affordable way to train both your current staff and new recruits. Apprenticeships are proven to increase productivity, motivation and morale among your staff. With the new incentive payments of up to £3,000 per apprentice hired, it’s a win-win for businesses in these unprecedented times.”

The GC Business Hub team will be joined by guest speaker Darcy Hibberd, Talent Acquisition & People Partner at Iress, a technology company providing software to the financial services industry. The software solutions developed by Iress are used by more than 9,000 businesses and 500,000 users globally. Iress is a finalist for ‘Employer of the Year’ in the GloucestershireLive Virtual Apprenticeship awards on Thursday 19th November 2020, highlighting their dedication and commitment to apprenticeships. Gloucestershire College is proud to work with Iress to deliver quality IT apprenticeships for their new recruits, helping to build their talent pipeline for the future. Darcy will be sharing their experience of working with Gloucestershire College and will explain why IT apprenticeships form an important of Iress.
