This is the third year in a row when the College has been recognised for its ongoing contribution to the success of its apprentices and their employers – GC won the Training Provider of the Year in 2021 and 2020.

Our own Julie Tegg, Director Employer Training & Apprenticeships has become a finalist in Outstanding Contribution to Apprenticeships. Julie and her team are responsible for raising the profile of apprenticeships with employers – showcasing the value they bring to businesses – and training the next generation of talent in Gloucestershire.

We understand the skill needs faced by industry sectors and focus on areas linked to economic growth plan for Gloucestershire.  The College Employer Training & Apprenticeships team is committed to developing and nurturing home-grown talent and training people up with skills, right from the start of their careers thus helping mould them to the high standard and quality our employer-partners expect, and in turn apprentices become part of the exciting growth with their employers.”

This year, four of GC apprentices have been shortlisted for the finals in the following categories:

Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Business, Administrative & Financial Services)

Jacob Bexley, Professional Accounting Taxation Technician Apprentice at Kohler Mira Ltd

Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Construction) 

Archie Kilminster, Plumbing & Domestic Heating Technician Apprentice at Vistry Group

Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Public Services & Education)

Matt Smith, Network Engineer Apprentice at Tewkesbury Borough Council

Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Technology, Digital & Creative Sector)

Thomas Purveur, Marketing Assistant Apprentice at Vistry Group

The winners of GloucestershireLive Apprenticeship Awards 2021 will be announced on 22 September 2022 at the awards ceremony at Kingsholm Stadium.

 

Gloucestershire College is an award-winning career-focused provider of further and higher education, with campuses in Cheltenham, Gloucester and the Forest of Dean.
