GC wins apprenticeship training provider award for the third year running
Employer Training and Apprenticeships
We are thrilled to have been crowned Training Provider of the Year for the third year in a row, in the Gloucestershire Apprenticeship Awards 2022.
This award recognises Gloucestershire College as the county's go-to-apprenticeship provider and a driving force behind promoting the benefits of apprenticeships to schools, students, employers and employees, as a way to grow, gain industry-recognised qualifications, upskill and start a dream career.
With one of largest portfolios of apprenticeship programmes in the region, strong partnerships with over 1,200 local employers, and an outstanding team of business consultants, training coordinators, assessors and lecturers, we offer 47 apprenticeship programmes covering engineering, construction, cyber, IT, hospitality, hair, business, professional services, dental nursing, education and early years.
We have proudly partnered with some of Gloucestershire’s best businesses, including Renishaw, GE Aviation, EDF Energy, North Tower Consulting, E G Carter, Superdry, Bamboo Technology, South Gloucestershire Council, Gloucestershire County Council, as well as Gloucestershire Health & Care NHS Foundation Trust who walked away with the Employer of the Year trophy at the awards.
GC's own Julie Tegg, Director, Employer Training & Apprenticeships was a finalist in the Outstanding Contribution to Apprenticeships category. Julie and her team work tirelessly to improve apprenticeship performance, achievement rates and destinations; design new programmes that are relevant, responsive and flexible; and form new partnerships through unrivalled employer engagement - all underpinned by apprentices' and employers' end goal of achievement and growth.
Jake Matthews of E G Carter won Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Construction). Jake studied a BTEC in construction at GC in 2018, before progressing to complete his HNC in Construction and Built Environment in July 2022.
In addition, four apprentices from the college were shortlisted as finalists in the following categories.
