Why study HE Apprenticeships?

University level apprenticeships are a great way to gain a higher-level qualification whilst staying in employment. You’ll be able to save on tuition fees, earn a wage, and get important experience. But don’t just take our word for it, some of our HE apprentices have rounded up why they chose to study with us.

Elizabeth Wells-West – HR Consultant/Partner Level 5

"I wanted to choose something that was going to accelerate me into the career I wanted. This was the course that my employer was offering. It was a little bit of a travel, but I don't think I would have chosen any other provider. The course itself and the support that that I had here was really, really good.

"The best part was the opportunity to meet and talk to lots of different people who were doing the same thing as me but in different companies. It was beneficial just to have that group together to share stories and learn from each other and talk to each other."

Curtis Dyke – AAT Diploma in Accounting Level 4

"After looking into the course, it was quite an easy decision for me after sixth form, knowing that I didn't want to go to university. I'm really glad that I decided to pursue that.

"I liked the community with people around you, you get a close bond with your classmates. I knew that that's the environment that I thrive in and obviously it's paid dividends in the end.

"For the apprenticeship you have hands-on support with training coordinators. They make it easier when you start a new role because they're there as kind of, not telling you what to do, but just helping hands for guidance. And they help not only, obviously, with your studies, but they also help in terms of work. If you need any guidance or any support, if you have any questions, you can go to them. They've been absolutely brilliant."

Chloe Athay - Software Tester Level 4

"I liked the idea of learning while I was working and earning and it's also a really good way to get into a career.

"You're not just studying all the time, you're also hands on and on the job so you're learning a lot more because you're applying your knowledge.

"Since I've graduated, I'm now working full time in software testing. I'd 100% recommend an apprenticeship. It's a great way of getting into a job where you learn so much and it's really nice to be in a workplace and get involved while you're learning."

Craig Fletcher - Operations/Departmental Manager Level 5

"I left school with no qualifications and work offered me an apprenticeship. I wanted to prove it to myself more than anything.

"One of the best things was the emotional intelligence unit on the course, I really enjoyed that. I've been doing bits and pieces of the course throughout my career but doing it in stages and methodically was new learning for me which was really good.

"I've since been seconded into some different departments, such as the continuous improvements department.

"I would recommend the apprenticeship because you can carry on working and if you have the backing of your company, it just works seamlessly. The apprenticeship is no trouble, obviously you've got to put the work in, but it just fits into your lifestyle."
