Gloucestershire College recognised for health and safety excellence at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)’s 70th anniversary awards
We are proud to have been awarded a Gold RoSPA Award for a second consecutive year, recognising our continued commitment to the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, students and visitors. The award highlights the high standards of safety maintained across our campuses and reflects the collective efforts of our teams to create a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the RoSPA Awards, which began as a small event to recognise the achievements of companies prioritising the safety of workers in UK, and has now grown into the biggest and most prestigious health and safety awards programme in the world, with the 2026 awards attracting 2,000 different entries from nearly 60 countries.
Entrants to the RoSPA Awards come from organisations of all sizes, ranging from SMEs to blue chip companies. As well as offering non-competitive achievement awards – in which Gold, Silver, Bronze and Merits are awarded. Entrants can bid to be crowned the winner across a range of industry sectors such as construction, manufacturing and entertainment, all judged by leading experts.
The application process enables entrants such as Gloucestershire College to enhance their health and safety standards by encouraging reflective practice, which contributes to continuing professional development (CPD), and emphasising the importance of ongoing learning to reducing workplace accidents. In receiving a RoSPA Award, Gloucestershire College are part of a proud legacy of organisations dedicated to keeping staff, students and the public safe.

At Gloucestershire College, we are committed to ensure that all our staff, students and visitors can work, learn and spend time on campus in a safe environment.
“Achieving the Gold Award during RoSPA’s 70th anniversary year makes the recognition particularly special and is a testament to the hard work, commitment and dedication of everyone across the College. As a team, we will continue to strive for improvement, building on our achievements and upholding the high standards recognised by RoSPA for many years to come.”

The RoSPA Awards are sponsored by the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH), a leading global organisation, which provides internationally-recognised health, safety and environmental qualifications that raise the competence of safety and environmental professionals as well as individuals at all levels in the workplace.
